Hostile Work Environment
July 4, 2014
A hostile work environment is defined by law. It is usually described as a persistent condition of work in which the individual’s ability to function adequately in the workplace is compromised. Sexual harassment occurs in situations in which employment is contingent upon sexual favors. For more than twenty years Dr. Friedland has worked with attorneys and conducted forensic evaluations of those individuals impacted by such environments. In other situations companies have requested Dr. Friedland to coach the individuals deemed responsible for demonstrating the negative behaviors.
Positive work environments have been found to result in higher productivity and well-being, as well as minimizing harassment and hostility. Many companies choose to take affirmative steps to repair negative situations by consulting with Dr. Friedland.
